Following on from the successful pre-race event from the 2016 race, the Nicol of Skene Westhill 10k, organised by the Westhill District and Community Sports Hub, is organising a pre-race event on Wednesday, 10th May in the Westhill Holiday Inn. The event is hosted by former international marathon runner and sports journalist, Fraser Clyne. Fraser is five times Scottish marathon champion and competed in the 1986 Commonwealth Games marathon, finishing 10th.
The evening event will feature a presentation from Peter Wilson, Co Director of the Beechgrove Clinic in Aberdeen and an Osteopath specialising in sports injuries with a particular interest in running, cycling and triathlon. Peter is a former Scottish marathon champion winning the centenary SAAA championship in Edinburgh in 1983 and representing Scotland several times over the marathon distance in the UK and abroad.
Kyle Greig, winner of the Male Senior category for inaugural Westhill 10k with a time of 32 minutes and 48 seconds and recently selected as part of Great Britain team for the 2017 World 50km Trail Running Championships in Italy, will also talk to the audience; alongside the Westhill 10k Physiotherapist and Sport Massage patrons, SPEAR Sports Injury and Physiotherapy and our retail sponsors, Run4It.
The event training patrons, Rebel PT will be at the event as well as Aberdeen Sports Village, Jog Scotland Westhill and our charity partners, SensationALL.
