Springtime is fast approaching and with lighter nights and brighter days, it’s the perfect opportunity to get running! The 2017 Nicol of Skene Westhill 10k is on Sunday, 11th June so you have plenty of time to get 10k ready and enjoy this scenic race route.
After some very positive feedback we have kept the race route the same as 2016 – you can check that out here – in the meantime, read what some of last year’s category winners had to say about the run…
“The Westhill 10k course is great but although it’s not the fastest, once you get past the hill on the first mile the next 3/4 miles have some great running and views. There isn’t many opportunities to do a decent 10k around Aberdeen and the ‘Shire so having this on the doorstep should inspire everyone to get their running shoes on and sign up!” Kyle Greig
“I did enjoy the route last year and have entered again this year. Route was good, scenic, weather was perfect. Please order in more of the same for this year … ” Lana Hadden
“I really enjoy local events (i.e. not having to travel too far to race) and had great fun taking part in the inaugural Westhill 10k race last year. It was a good course, well organised race and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I was pleased to see it was back again in 2017!” Marie Baxter
“I have taken advantage of my VIP entry for this year’s race as I enjoyed the Westhill10k route last year. Well organised race for its 1st year.” Alison Milne
“Very enjoyable and friendly local race with great support and atmosphere.” Nicola Gauld
Race day registration will open from 8am and there will be children’s races for P1-3, P4-7 and S1-S3 before the 10k race. This run is spectator-friendly and there will be onsite catering and toilet facilities at the start / finish area by the Ashdale Hall and Westhill Academy playing fields.
